GetSorted Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 6, 2026

1. Who We Are

GetSorted™ is a home-inventory and organization app offered by BrightCasa LLC ("BrightCasa," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes what information GetSorted collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can manage or delete it.

2. Information You Provide

When you use GetSorted, you may provide information such as:

  • Account information, including your name, email address, and account password.
  • Home-inventory content you choose to add, such as rooms or areas, containers, items, names, descriptions, notes, categories, tags, brand, model, part number, serial number, quantity, expiration date, and other inventory details.
  • Photos of rooms, containers, items, or related review content that you capture or upload.
  • Progress content you choose to save as part of Before & After records, including a saved Before photo and, optionally, a current After photo.
  • Information you enter when you request a password reset.
  • Support requests, feedback, and other messages you send to us.

3. Information Generated Through Use

As you use GetSorted, we or our service providers generate or receive information needed to operate the service, such as:

  • Internal user identifiers and record identifiers.
  • Timestamps and operational metadata.
  • Inventory and photo-review records created while you organize your home inventory.
  • AI-assisted recognition and suggestion results.
  • Review-session and photo-processing data used while you capture, review, and organize inventory.
  • Technical and request information such as request identifiers, request paths and status, IP address, errors, diagnostics, and security-related information used to operate and protect the service.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts and authenticate sign-ins.
  • Store, display, search, and manage your inventory content.
  • Host and deliver your photos through the app.
  • Provide AI-assisted features such as identifying household objects and suggesting names, categories, descriptions, tags, quantities, and brand, model, or serial-number details where applicable.
  • Store and display Progress / Before & After records you choose to save, allow you to add or replace an After photo, and generate a comparison image at your request.
  • Support your requested actions to save a Before & After comparison image to your device or share it using your device's native sharing tools.
  • Send password-reset emails when you request them.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Based on the current implementation, we do not use your information for third-party advertising, behavioral advertising, or cross-app advertising tracking.

5. Photos and AI Analysis

GetSorted lets you capture and upload photos to help organize household items.

Photos are uploaded to Cloudinary, which GetSorted uses for image hosting and delivery. Photos are delivered through URL-based links. Those links are not intended as public listings, but a person who obtains a valid photo URL may be able to access that image.

When you use an AI-assisted feature, GetSorted may send image data and related prompts through the GetSorted backend, Emergent integrations, and one or more underlying AI providers, currently Google Gemini and OpenAI. AI processing supports features such as identifying items, suggesting names, categorizing content, drafting descriptions, tags, quantities, and other inventory details, and preparing photo-review results.

AI-generated suggestions can be incomplete or inaccurate. You should review AI-assisted suggestions before relying on them.

Provider retention, logging, caching, and security practices are governed by each provider's service terms and configuration and can vary over time. We do not represent that any provider retains nothing, deletes data immediately, or excludes inputs from any particular use under their own terms.

Organizing Coach and Progress photos. Photos you submit to Organizing Coach may be kept temporarily on your device or processed as needed to provide Coach guidance. Coach photos are not added to your permanent GetSorted inventory or to your Progress collection unless you explicitly choose to save them. If you choose Save as Before, GetSorted creates a durable Progress record and stores the saved image; you may later add an After photo, or replace the current After photo. Saving a photo to Progress does not by itself trigger additional AI analysis.

6. Local Device Storage

GetSorted stores some information on your device to make the app work, including:

  • An authentication token, held in secure device storage where the platform supports it.
  • Preferences and internal identifiers used by the app.
  • Temporary photo-review recovery information used while you capture, review, and organize items.

Temporary photo-review recovery information may include image data, photo links, AI drafts and suggestions, AI-generated summaries, draft inventory details, and location selections. This recovery information generally has a 24-hour local recovery window. Cleanup happens when the app next performs local cleanup, so removal is not guaranteed at an exact moment.

7. Service Providers

GetSorted currently uses the following service providers to operate the app:

  • Render for application and API hosting.
  • MongoDB for database services.
  • Cloudinary for image upload, hosting, and delivery.
  • Resend for password-reset email delivery.
  • Emergent integrations for AI routing and integration.
  • Google Gemini for AI processing.
  • OpenAI for AI processing.

These providers may process technical metadata needed to operate and secure the service, such as timestamps, request identifiers, request paths and status codes, IP addresses, errors, diagnostics, and security-related information. Each provider handles information under its own service terms and security practices.

8. Data Sharing, Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

We share information with service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate GetSorted, deliver requested features (such as data storage, image delivery, AI assistance, and password-reset emails), and maintain security.

Based on the current implementation, GetSorted does not:

  • Sell your personal information.
  • Include an advertising network.
  • Include a behavioral advertising system.
  • Include a third-party behavioral-tracking SDK.
  • Include a third-party analytics SDK.
  • Integrate with a data broker.

Service-provider processing that GetSorted needs to run — such as storing your data, delivering your photos, or generating AI suggestions when you use an AI-assisted feature — is not the same as selling personal information.

Saving and sharing Before & After images. You may choose to save a Before & After comparison image to your device or share it using your device's native sharing tools. GetSorted does not automatically post, send, or select a recipient for these images, and does not publish Progress content publicly. The exported comparison image is not designed to include your name, address, precise location, inventory details, room, container, or item information, private Organizing Coach conversation text, or feedback data by default. When you choose to share an image with another app, service, or person, the recipient service's own privacy practices apply.

9. Data Retention and Recently Deleted

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate GetSorted, provide requested features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and reliability. Different types of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable legal requirements.

When you delete a room or area, container, item, or an individual photo from within GetSorted, that content generally enters a Recently Deleted recovery period of approximately seven days.

  • During the recovery period, eligible deleted content is not immediately removed from all storage, and you can restore it in the app.
  • You may permanently delete eligible content sooner where the app offers that option.
  • After the seven-day recovery period ends, that content becomes eligible for permanent deletion.
  • Permanent deletion runs when GetSorted's cleanup processes next run, so removal is not guaranteed at the exact second the seven-day period ends.
  • Information processed by third-party providers, and content held in provider logs, caches, or backups, may take additional time to clear according to each provider's own retention and security practices.

Progress / Before & After records follow a separate deletion path from the inventory Recently Deleted recovery system described above. In the current version, deleting a Progress record requires confirmation and is permanent when confirmed; it does not enter Recently Deleted. Deleting an unfinished Progress record removes its stored Before image, and deleting a completed Progress record removes both the stored Before image and the current After image. Deleting a Progress record does not delete or alter the associated Organizing Coach conversation. Saved Progress records and their associated stored photos otherwise remain available until you delete the Progress record, delete your account, or retention is otherwise no longer necessary.

10. User Choices and Controls

You can review, add, edit, or delete inventory content within the app. You can restore or, where offered, permanently remove content in the Recently Deleted area during its recovery period. You can also delete your GetSorted account entirely, as described in Section 11.

For Progress / Before & After records, you can choose to save an Organizing Coach photo as a Before image, add an After photo, replace the current After photo, save a completed comparison image to your device, share a completed comparison image through your device's native sharing tools, and permanently delete a Progress record after confirmation.

GetSorted does not currently provide a self-service data-export tool. Saving a Before & After comparison image to your device is a user-requested image save and is not a full-account data export. If you have questions about the information associated with your account, contact us using the details in Section 14.

11. Account Deletion

You can delete your GetSorted account from within the app by going to:

Settings > Account > Delete Account

When you confirm account deletion and the deletion process completes successfully:

  • Your GetSorted account is deleted.
  • User-owned application records associated with the account are deleted from the application database, including inventory records and saved Progress records.
  • Associated Cloudinary photo assets that belong exclusively to that account are deleted or requested for deletion, based on the account's stored photo records, including inventory photos and saved Progress Before and After images.
  • The authenticated session is cleared on the device.

Account deletion depends on the availability and successful response of the services involved in completing the process. GetSorted is designed to avoid reporting account deletion as complete when required remote photo cleanup fails.

Some information may remain temporarily in provider logs, caches, backups, security or fraud-prevention records, or records we are required to keep by law. Removal from those systems occurs according to each provider's practices and applicable legal requirements, and is not guaranteed to happen immediately.

Deleting an individual item, container, room, or photo outside of the full account-deletion process participates in the Recently Deleted recovery system described in Section 9, and remotely hosted image cleanup for those objects may take additional time to appear in provider caches, logs, and backups.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. For example, GetSorted stores a one-way password hash rather than your plaintext password.

Password reset uses your email address to send a temporary reset link generated as a token. The reset token is stored in hashed form in the application database, is delivered to you through Resend, and generally expires after approximately one hour.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Children

GetSorted is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@brightcasa.co.

14. Beta Signup Is Separate

The BrightCasa website beta-list signup form is separate from a GetSorted app account. Joining the beta list does not create a GetSorted account and does not create any inventory data. The beta form currently collects information such as first name, email address, device type, organizing interest, and referral source, and that information is used to operate the beta list.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
